The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Obi Local Government Area have been challenged to embrace unity of purpose to achieve success in the forthcoming local government elections. Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Iyimoga Oyige, made this call during a meeting with APC stakeholders in Lafia.

The meeting aimed to deliberate on issues crucial to the party’s success in the elections. Oyige commended the stakeholders for their maturity in handling political matters and maintaining peace, emphasizing the need to cement relationships after the consensus process.

  • Unity of Purpose: Oyige stressed the importance of unity among stakeholders for electoral success.
  • Credible Leadership: He praised Engineer Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in selecting credible candidates for Obi Local Government Council.
  • Financial Support: Critical stakeholders donated over ₦25 million to support the APC candidate’s campaign.
  • Stakeholder Support: Executive chairman SUBEB, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Danazumi, and Executive Secretary Nasarawa State Scholarship Board, Hajiya Saadatu Yahaya, among others, pledged support.

APC Chairmanship candidate Muhammad Isa Keke appreciated the stakeholders’ support, promising not to disappoint if elected.

The Obi Local Government Area, with its rich cultural heritage and predominantly Igede population, is crucial to the APC’s electoral success. The party’s nomination of 23 chairmanship and 276 councillorship candidates for the local government election demonstrates its commitment to grassroots development.
