The Nasarawa State Government has dissolved the eighteen overseers of Development Areas in the State.

The State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Iyimoga Oyigye announced this during a meeting with the outgoing overseers of development areas at the Conference Hall of the Ministry in Lafia.

Addressing the outgoing Overseers of the 18 Development Areas, the State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Iyimoga Oyigye informed them that Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciates their immense contributions to the development of the State.

Muhammad Oyigye tasked the outgoing Overseers to continue to contribute their quota to the growth and development of their various areas and the State at large.

The Local Government Commissioner informed the overseers that Governor Sule warned them to stay away from issues capable of causing disunity among their people and instead work for the benefit of all and sundry.

In a remark, Chairman, Forum of Overseers Barrister Haruna Muhammad appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for finding them worthy to serve their people and pledged their unwavering support to his administration’s policies and programmes.

The outgoing Overseers of the 18 Development Areas had served for three years after their inauguration in 2021 by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
