Priorities for Admissions into Health Institutions Should be on Merit-Speaker NSHA

Administrators of Health related schools in Nigeria have been challenged to prioritize merits in offering admission given the sensitivity of the profession.

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Danladi Jatau threw the challenge while hosting the management of Hill College of Nursing Science Jos, Plateau State.

Playing host to the management of Hill College of Nursing Science Jos, Plateau State, the speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly commended them for establishing the institution which according to him will go a long way to address the manpower need in the health sector.

However, the speaker challenged the management and other administrator of Health related schools to prioritize merit while offering admission given the sensitivity of the health profession.

On the partnership the Hill college of Nursing Science Jos want to have with Nasarawa State, speaker Danladi Jatau said is a noble initiative which will be communicated to the state governor and commended the proprietor, Nafisa Umar for finding him worthy to serve as the secretary of the board of governing council of the institution.

In another development, the member representing Lafia North Constituency Barr Esson Mariga has reaffirmed his commitments to providing infrastructure to the rural areas to addressing the suffering being faced by the rural dwellers.

The lawmaker who gave the assurance while hosting Multi-purpose Unity Progressive Forum within his constituency said aside legislation, he is identifying critical needs of rural dwellers within his constituency with the view to providing assistance when necessary.
